YMCA to Honor Service Members

During the month of April, the Washington County Family YMCA will lead Washington County in a Salute to our Soldiers, by honoring local service members and their families.

The YMCA has outlined weekly challenges for Washington County residents during the month of April, which includes wearing yellow, writing letters of support, donating care package items and prayer.  The Saturday following each weekly challenge will be an opportunity for member of the community to give back an hour to our service men and women by setting yard signs, making cards, packing care packages and attending Health Kids Day where service members' children will be guests of honor.  A community photo will be taken to send to our troops along with their family's photo.

To accompany the community challenges each week, the YMCA will host a family support group each Thursday in April, in the lobby of the YMCA from 6 - 7 pm.  The family support group is open to all ages and will be a way for family members and loved ones of service men and woment to share and support each other.  Child care is provided from ages 6 months to 12 years.
