Tobacco Prevention Grant
The Washington County Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition has received a grant for funding for the next two years. The organization is now under the State Agency Department of Health. Funding for the organization was initially cut, but was refunded for two more years.
The organization is working with area businesses. Currently 40 organizations/providers/employers have signed up to participate in the Quit Now Preferred Network. The program is designed to help support better health for participants. The next meeting of the Tobacco Coalition is on Tuesday, August 16, noon at the Salem Lions Club.
