E-NEWSLETTER: Chamber members receive an e-newsletter, which covers upcoming events and projects. You can sponsor the newsletter for $100 per quarter, and you will be recognized in the newsletter. You may also put in an ad or include an insert for $100 per quarter. Please call the Chamber at 812-883-4303 or send an e-mail for more information.

SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: As requested your Chamber will host small business development workshops. New or already-established business owners can have private and confidential meetings with Small Business Development personnel and get information about permits, licenses, business plans, etc.

HOSPITALITY DEVELOPMENT: Your Chamber is constantly trying to build a strong sense of hospitality in the community.  We understand how important first impressions are for those visiting from outside the community. Hospitality seminars are scheduled throughout the year or on as needed at your location and the Chamber offers a “Mystery Shopper” program that affords you objective feedback on how your business is perceived by others.

COMMUNITY CALENDAR: Your Chamber keeps a community calendar. The calendar is available on the website.  Businesses/organizations wishing to add event information to the calendar may send their information to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. REFERRAL SERVICES: Your Chamber makes it a point to refer business opportunities to its members whenever possible.

WORKING TOGETHER:  The Chamber of Commerce promotes and assists businesses/organizations doing business with one another in the community.  The Chamber also mpormotes shop at home program.

INFORMATION CENTER: Your Chamber office has a wide variety of materials available including festival and tourism brochures and Washington County resource guides. State legislative action is easily accessed through the Chamber office. A community calendar of events is kept on file as well as information given to the local newspaper for publication in its Community Calendar. Demographic and statistical information is available as well as real estate guides.

MAPS: Maps of the City, County, State, and other small communities in Washington County are located in the Chamber Office.  The maps are free to the public.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP:  Your Chamber is dedicated to area businesses and county residents.

COMMUNITY RECOGNITION:  The Citizen of the Year Award is given at the Chamber annual dinner. Nominations are taken from the community, and selection is made by a Chamber selection committee from those nominations.

NEW BUSINESS RECOGNITION: The Chamber is very active in welcoming new businesses to the community. A ribbon cutting may be  arranged with local media and government officials as well as chamber members. Please stop by the Chamber, call, or e-mail if you are opening a business, doing a grand re-opening, or anything new to your business for recognition. The Chamber will be glad to help get your business the recognition it deserves!

COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIP:  The Chamber works closely with area festivals by distributing information and questions to the appropriate festival personnel.  The Chamber organzies two Friday Night on the Square events.  The Chamber is the host agency for the Christmas parade.  In addition, the Chamber hosts other events to bring individuals and families into the community. CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD:Each year a committee from the Chamber selects a person for Citizen of the Year. The award is presented at the Chamber's Annual Dinner. Information about the Citizen of the Year can be found in the local paper or by contacting the Chamber.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:  The Chamber of Commerce provides opportunities for members to promote their business and/or organization.

MONTHLY MEETINGS: The Chamber has a monthly meeting on the 4th Thursday of each month for members. This is open to the public and members. The meeting location does change from month to month.  Meeting information is available on the webpage.

ANNUAL DINNER: Each year the Chamber conducts an Annual Dinner.  The Dinner provides those attending with an update on Chamber activities, announcement of Awards and entertainment. 

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS: The Chamber promotes Business after Hours to Members Only.  If your business or organization would like to host a Business After Hours, please call, e-mail, or stop by the Chamber office to sign up.

STARTING A BUSINESS:  The Chamber of Commerce can assist persons interested in starting a business. 

E-MAIL UPDATES: The Chamber sends regular emails to members.  In addition, Chamber members who offer 'specials' to other members may send their information to the Chamber Office so that it may be distributed.  Chamber members are invited to send in events that may be included in the newsletter.  Information maybe sent to the Chamber Office via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. RIBBON CUTTINGS: The Chamber does Ribbon Cuttings for new businesses or for a member business that has a grand opening, a special event, expansion, or remodeling.

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITES:  The Chamber brings Santa to town to visit with children.  Santa arrives during the Christmas Parade.  He visits with children at his house, located on the Courthouse lawn during the month of December.  In addition, the Chamber of Commerce is the host organization for the Christmas Parade.   Sponsorship opportunities are available for Chamber Members.

MAILING LABELS: The Chamber will provide 1 set of mailing labels to members, upon request, at no charge. This is limited to 1 request per member per year.
